About the Role
- Lead and execute Basic Engineering, FEED, and Detailed Engineering activities related to rotating equipment. - Develop and review Rotating Equipment Design Basis, specifications, datasheets, requisitions, technical documents, and engineering deliverables. - Handle engineering activities for major rotating equipment including centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, pumps, steam turbines, gas turbines, expanders, fans, blowers, gearboxes, agitators/mixers, and other packaged rotating equipment. - Review Client specifications, project design basis, applicable codes, standards, statutory requirements, and vendor requirements. - Prepare and review Equipment Datasheets, Technical Specifications, Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations, Vendor Document Requirements, and purchase specifications. - Perform technical evaluation of vendor offers and prepare Technical Bid Evaluations. - Review and approve Vendor Drawings and Documents. - Review rotating equipment performance requirements. - Review and coordinate pump system requirements. - Review and coordinate compressor systems. - Review mechanical seals, dry gas seals, and associated systems. - Coordinate with Piping Engineering for equipment layout. - Review allowable nozzle loads and coordinate with Piping/Stress Engineering. - Coordinate with Civil & Structural Engineering regarding equipment foundation requirements. - Coordinate with Electrical and Instrumentation & Control disciplines. - Review rotating equipment vibration, balancing, alignment, and dynamic requirements. - Review vendor proposals and ensure compliance, preparing and reviewing Material Requisitions, Technical Purchase Specifications, Inspection & Test Plans, and Quality Requirements. - Participate in vendor clarification meetings and relevant design reviews. - Coordinate with Procurement and vendors for technical queries and document delivery. - Review and resolve technical deviations and vendor queries. - Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and interdisciplinary reviews. - Ensure proper engineering workflow and document control. - Monitor engineering progress and ensure timely completion of deliverables. - Support Project Management in identifying changes and additional requirements. - Provide technical support during inspection, installation, and performance testing activities. - Review operating and maintenance requirements and provide inputs for documentation. - Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Mechanical Engineers and Designers.
